- Purpose of the call
Critical Thinking for Mediawise Citizens – CriThink (IPA / 2017 / 393-851, see more in Chapter 6 below) project, implemented by the Metamorphosis Foundation and EUROTHINK – Center for European strategies, announces a call for selection of a researcher who in cooperation with, and according to the directions of the project team, will carry out a series of activities (see section 3 below) related to office and field research, writing an analytical report and advocating for topic of critical thinking ability and media skills among young people. The result of the activities is to conduct an evidence-based public policy study, which will serve as a basis for making recommendations on the type of intervention needed in policies that affect public’s ability to deal with media manipulation, propaganda, fake news, and related appeared. - Call range
The call is intended for individuals (natural persons), citizens of the country of implementation of activities, with at least three years of work experience in conducting research activities in the field of social sciences. The minimum level of education of the candidates is high (completed seventh degree). Excellent knowledge in English is also a prerequisite. Preference is given to young researchers, doctoral students or advanced postgraduate students. The advantage is having experience in policy research and journalism (policy research). - Implementation of activities
The selected candidate will be expected to implement the activities in cooperation with, and according to the directions of the project team, according to a work plan that indicatively includes:
Office research and development of a field research questionnaire (20 days)
Organization, conducting, coding and analysis of interviews (10 days)
Design, implementation and analysis of three focus groups (20 days)
Study writing (10 days)
Preparation of a survey questionnaire, analysis of survey results and writing of an analysis (10 days)
The total number of working days is seventy (70). For each working day there is a fee of 60 euros in gross amount which will be paid in denar counter value, according to the course of the project.
The total time frame for the implementation of the activities is 7 months, from March 1 to September 30.
- Deadlines, dynamics and conditions
The deadline for applying of candidates is February 21, 2020, by 5 p.m. The best ranked candidates will be notified of an interview with the project team by February 20, 2020 at the latest. The selected candidate will be invited to sign an agreement regulating their mutual obligations within the project no later than February 21, 2020. The selected candidate will be expected to be available to carry out the activities immediately after signing the contract. During the activities, the project will provide space conditions and resources for uninterrupted work for the selected candidate. The total number of working days is seventy (70). For each working day, a fee of 60 euros in gross amount is provided, which will be paid in denar counter value, according to the course of the project, per submitted time sheet. - Manner of application and selection
