PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The main goal of the project is to promote media literacy as a basis for preserving the right of citizens to have different opinions, by stimulating a culture of critical thinking, pluralism of opinion and democratic values. In order to contribute to the achievement of the overall goals, the following specific goals will be achieved in the project time frame:
- To foster a culture of critical thinking by educating the general public about the detrimental impact of media manipulation on democracy and European values;
- Increase the capacity of civil society organizations (CSOs) and the media to address media manipulation (including hate speech) by improving the level of media literacy through joint involvement with state institutions;
- To increase citizens’ demand for responsible media through public education, promoting professional standards and international practices that protect freedom of opinion and expression.
ROLE IN THE PROJECT:
The Project Coordinator will support the project team responsible for project implementation and will support the Project Manager in meetings with key stakeholders, partners, other stakeholders and organizations. The coordinator will work under the direct supervision of the project manager and in day-to-day cooperation with the project staff. The project coordinator will coordinate research activities and public events, support project organization, oversee project planning and implementation, support evaluation, and reporting.
MAIN TASKS:
- In cooperation with the project manager will manage the overall planning and project activities;
- In cooperation with the Project Manager will manage the day-to-day operational aspects of the project;
- In cooperation with the Project Manager will manage the project staff, as well as the allocation of resources and budget;
- In cooperation with the Project Manager will manage the project staff, as well as the allocation of resources and budget;
- In cooperation with the project manager, will schedule and facilitate project team meetings;
Identifies the necessary resources and assigns individual responsibilities; - Proposes and implements appropriate work procedures;
- In cooperation with the Project Manager, will supervise or implement the procedures for procurement of services and goods;
- Facilitate bid evaluation and approve payments;
- Maintaining effective communication and working relationships with the target group and partners;
- In cooperation with the Project Manager will monitor and evaluate the progress of the project;
- In collaboration with the Project Manager, support the preparation of donor and organization reports;
- Will coordinate and monitor all research activities of the project;
- Coordinate and mentor grantee work and review their interim and final narrative reports;
- Together with other members of the project team will be involved in conducting training for grantees;
- Will be responsible for organizing and coordinating all public events related to the project;
- Other activities in accordance with the project document.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- University diploma for completed studies in areas related to the program areas of EUROTHINK.
- Postgraduate and doctoral studies will be considered an advantage;
- Advanced level of English (speaking and writing);
- Ability for analytical and critical thinking;
- Personal integrity.
