On February 27, 2020, at Holiday Inn Hotel, Skopje, a final event was held on the topic: “Implementation of the Prespa Agreement” by EUROTHINK – Center for European Strategies and the office “Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung” in Skopje, supported by the Embassy of Canada to Serbia, North Macedonia and Montenegro.
The event discussed the implementation of the Prespa Agreement so far, with the presentation of a short public policy document entitled: “The Prespa Agreement one year after ratification: from enthusiasm to uncertainty?”, as well as video material and timeline of the Prespa Agreement, created in collaboration between Greek and Macedonian analysts and journalists.
The Executive director of EUROTHINK, Ivan Stefanovski, gave a welcome speech at the event. Welcoming remarks on the cooperation between North Macedonia and Canada were made by Mr. Brian Ebel, Political Adviser of the Embassy of Canada in Serbia, North Macedonia and Montenegro. Speakers at the panel included guests from Greece, journalist Alexandra Vouduri and Professor Ioannis Armakolas. Macedonian speakers were Ivan Stefanovski, Executive Director of EUROTHINK, as well as the journalist of KLAN TV, Ms. Biljana Georgievska, and the moderator of the discussion was Eva Elereit, Director of the “Friedrich Ebert Stiftung” office in Skopje.
The event was organized within the project “Reconciliation of bilateral relations between North Macedonia and Greece by monitoring the implementation of the Prespa Agreement” (part of SYMPHONY – Program for rapprochement between Northern Macedonia and Greece), funded by the Canadian Fund for Local Initiatives, supported by the Embassy of Canada in Belgrade, and implemented by EUROTHINK.
