EU accession and poverty in Macedonia

This public policy brief addresses EU enlargement and its impact on poverty in acceding countries. EU enlargement is considered to be a powerful tool for reducing poverty in the acceding countries. EU membership is expected to bring intensified capital inflows and trade to the acceding countries, improve the institutional capacity of these countries, improve the overall efficiency of system and increasing international competitiveness.
